Colonel John Watson Family

This brick farmhouse on Worcester Road, picture taken in 1973, was originally built in 1773 for Colonel John Watson and his family. The farm was later owned by his son Jacob and then for a short time by Albert Haynes before it was purchased by Artemas J. Brooks.

Below are the Princeton headstones of the Watson family from Meeting House and South Cemeteries; their descendants moved to Shabbona, Ill.

Col. Jacob and Lydia had another son William, and he moved to Dekalb, IL.
Elmira married Benjamin Holden of Princeton.
They had daughter Francene Augusta Holden, who married David Franklin Smith of Princeton.
They had a son named Richmond Watson Smith, who was born at 68 Hubbardston Road.

The Watson's are also related to the Smith's, Whitney's and Isaac Wheeler
