Summary – Lost Gardens On Sunday, June 7, approximately 100 people attended a slideshow by Thomas Allen descendant Anna Lee Ames Frohlich followed by a tour of the Allen Estate grounds on Allen Hill Road. The property tour was led by John Trexler, past director of the Tower Hill Botanic Gardens and was hosted by PHS and the Wachusett Garden Club. While hostess Karen Cruise talked about what people were seeing and what used to be there, John pointed out trees and garden features of note including a hundred plus year old weeping beach, arborvitae, umbrella pine, scotch pine, rhododendron, and rock garden. The slideshow that began the event helped everyone understand the scope of work that Thomas Allen undertook with his summer home in Princeton. Another glorious day to enjoy the outdoors in Princeton!   photos by Larry Greene
